The PRAXIS II Safety/Driver Education Exam (0860) is taken by candidates interested in teaching high school driver education in Pennsylvania. The exam is comprised of 125 multiple-choice questions: 15 questions cover public relations and ;legal aspects, 27 questions cover evaluation and methodology 19 questions cover information materials and equipment, 26 questions cover planning and budgeting, 9 questions cover safety and traffic regulations, and 29 questions cover driver education curriculum and safety. Candidates have two hours to complete the exam.
The Public Relations and Legal Aspects section of the exam covers school relationships with special populations, parental support, relationships with car dealers, legal concerns in driver education, emergency procedures, insurance, recordkeeping, planned driving routes, and local and state regulations.
The Evaluation and Methodology section of the exam covers student driving evaluation, classroom assessment, instructor evaluation, curriculum evaluation, special populations, applying classroom knowledge to driving, driving simulators, and driving practice.
The Information; Materials and Equipment section of the exam covers information resources, information utilization, legislation, safety research, classroom equipment, driver simulation equipment, street driving, textbooks, audiovisual aids, and physical equipment.
