In order to show that you have achieved the required level of knowledge, skills and abilities deemed necessary to successfully perform in the role as an educator of secondary school English Language Arts, you will be required to take and pass the Praxis II English Language Arts: Content Knowledge (5038) exam. This exam is a computer delivered test that consists of 130 selected-response questions that you will need to answer within a 150-minute time frame. As this is computer delivered, you will be able to skip questions and return to them at a later time throughout the exam. It is advisable to respond to as many questions as possible as your score will be based on the number of correctly answered questions with no penalty for incorrect responses.
Questions will be formatted as multiple-choice questions, including multiple-selection and single selection, order/match, audio or video stimulus, table/grid and select in passage. Passing scores are determined based on the requirements of the individual state. Since the test is computer delivered, you will be given the opportunity to learn how the interface works before beginning the examination.
