Introduction to the Praxis Series

Praxis II exams are used to assess your knowledge of the subject matter that you intend to teach. Many states in the United States use this as part of the teachers licensing procedure. The Praxis II series is a national exam, meaning that the subject matter covered in this study guide is applicable to all states using the Praxis II series. The advantage to this national exam is that once you take the exam your score is transferable to other states, however scores considered as passing vary from state to state. If you would like to find out what the passing score is for your state please consult your schools College of Education. States decide passing scores based on recommendations of panels of teachers and teacher educators in each subject matter, in each specific state with the Praxis II series.
