The Praxis II Educational Leadership: Administration and Supervision (ELAS) (5411) exam is one of the requirements for potential educators to receive certification and licensure for professional practice. It is designed to test the applicant’s mastery of standards-relevant knowledge through a series of questions that cover a range of content as defined by a National Advisory Committee of expert practitioners and preparation faculty.
The exam is a computer delivered test, so you will be given the opportunity to learn the interface prior to beginning the examination. During the actual test, you will be able to skip questions and return to them at a later time. It is advisable to take advantage of this feature throughout the exam to answer each question to the best of your ability while attempting to answer as many as possible. Your grade will be based only on the number of correctly answered questions with no penalty for incorrect answers. Passing scores are state-dependent.
You will be given two hours to complete the 110 question exam. The test may present questions in different formats, asking you to respond to selected-response questions that may have one or more correct answers, clicking on a graphic, select an answer from a drop-down menu or drag and drop answer choices. These questions will cover the following Content Categories to test for your comprehension of relevant skills and knowledge pertinent to the position of an entry-level education leader. Each of these categories is aligned with the Educational Leadership Policy Standards ISLLC 2008:
- Vision and Goals
- Teaching and Learning
